Jason Saliba & Jonathan Aquilina draw first blood in KSFA doubles 2018

 Match # 1.

Today the 28th of Jan 2018 ushered in the first doubles angling match of the new season. This was held at Manoel Island. It was a beautiful day with a light to moderate South Easterly wind and hardly a cloud in the sky.
This first match as expected, between 8 brilliant teams was keenly contested. There had to be a winner and Jason & John drew first blood, by ably placing 1st with 1.72kgs. They were followed by Il Gower Joseph Ellul and Jonathan Vella on 1.53kgs and in 3rd place by Miguel Grech and Bjorn Brincat on 1.5kgs.
Section winners were Saviour Borg & Kevin Cassar and Jonathan Bonnici and Brian Farrugia.
Kevin Cassar also registered the first biggest fish of the new season a Gilt head Bream (Awrata) of 600g.
Most of the fish landed today were various bottom fish and small mullets (Bobin). And we also had 4 moray eels courtesy of Miguel Grech. Fish were all released after weigh in.
