KSFA Colmic 3 Day Tournament 2023 - Full Report

These last 3 days we had the KSFA Colmic 3 Day Tournament which was done in collaboration with the European Region of Sports 2023.
A total of 10 teams registered for this year's 3 Day Tournament and quite happy we had 2 youngsters fishing, Issac Gatt (12years old) & Kayden Refalo (13 years old).
Friday evening the anglers competed on the quay below the Corinthia Marina Hotel. Stefan Borg & James Micallef `won the first leg
hands down where immediately they opened a gap of almost 2kgs on the second placed team composed by Fortune Calafato & James Gilson. James Gilson also registered a biggest fish on the day. In third overall we find the team composed from Carmelo Quattrocchi & Miguel Grech.
Yesterday, Saturday 29th in the afternoon we have competed at Manoel Island. Club veterans Adrian Nelson & Pierre Poulton won this match with a nice weight of 3.161Kgs, followed closely in second place by Fortune Calafato & James Gilson with 3.081Kgs. Third on the day finished Colmic buddies Aaron Xuereb & Scott Matthew Farrugia with 2.660Kgs. Scott Matthew Farrugia registered the new biggest fish for this tournament with a nice parrot fish of 771grms on ultra light tackle.
The final match was held at Sliema, Exiles. Aaron Xuereb & Scott Farrugia again won this leg with a whopping weight of 7.365kgs, closely followed by Stefan Borg & James Micallef with 6.848Kgs. Third on the day came Carmelo Quattrocchi & Miguel Grech with a weight of 5.701kg.
As soon as the match finished Chief Marshall Alexander Genovese checked and counted all the weights together and he confirmed that the Overall Winners of this year's Tournament were the following:
1st Overall - Stefan Borg / James Micallef - 13.162Kgs
2nd Overall - Aaron Xuereb / Scott Farrugia - 11.383Kgs
3rd Overall - Fortune Calafato / James Gilson - 9.661Kgs.
Biggest Fish - Scott Farrugia 771grms parrot fish.
Trophies were presented by Anthony Chircop President Reġjun Lvant and Sliema mayor John Pillow
